Host institution

Kyiv Academic University provides the institutional, organisational and administrative framework for the NASU FAIR Data Competence Center.

The Centre operates as a non-structural unit of Kyiv Academic University and acts within the University’s legal personality.

Kyiv Academic University is responsible for the institutional governance, resource arrangements and formal operation of the Centre in accordance with the approved Regulation and internal University procedures.

Provides the legal framework for cooperation with NASU institutions, projects and external partners.

Institutional responsibilities

Approval and governance: approval of the Centre’s Regulation and relevant internal decisions.

Appointment of leadership: appointment and dismissal of the Head of the Centre through an institutional order.

Accountability: designation of the University official to whom the Head of the Centre reports.

Organisational arrangements: determination of the Centre’s staffing, structure and available resources.

Financial arrangements: establishment of financing and contractual procedures in accordance with legislation and University rules.

Institutional cooperation: formalisation of agreements, memoranda, projects and other forms of cooperation.

Governance relationship

Academic Council

Considers and approves the institutional Regulation governing the Centre.

Director of KAU

Approves institutional decisions and appoints the Head of the Centre through the established procedure.

Head of the Centre

Organises the Centre’s activities and is personally responsible for its assigned tasks.

Coordination Council

May be established as an advisory body for the Centre’s strategic development.

Resources and financing

The scope of staffing, resources and financing of the Centre is determined by Kyiv Academic University according to the established institutional procedure.

Centre and institutional responsibilities

The Centre provides methodological, consultation, training, curation and service support. It does not replace the statutory responsibilities of Kyiv Academic University, NASU institutions, data owners, ethics bodies, repository operators or authorised decision-makers.

Decisions concerning employment, financing, contracts, legal representation and institutional obligations remain subject to the established procedures of Kyiv Academic University.

Institutional cooperation

Acting within the framework of Kyiv Academic University, the Centre may cooperate with NASU institutions, higher education institutions, repositories, libraries, shared research facilities, research infrastructures, IT units and international partners.

Cooperation may be formalised through agreements, memoranda, letters of intent, joint projects or other documents permitted by legislation and the internal regulations of Kyiv Academic University.
