About the Centre
The NASU FAIR Data Competence Center supports researchers and research organisations in managing, documenting, publishing and reusing research data according to FAIR principles and open science practices.
The Centre provides methodological, consultation, training, curation, information and digital support for research data management, repository publication and the preparation of research outputs for national and international research infrastructures.
It serves researchers, research groups, laboratories, institutes, repositories, libraries and research infrastructures within the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the wider Ukrainian research community.

Methodological support
Develops guidelines, templates, metadata profiles, checklists and practical recommendations for managing and publishing research data.
Consultation and curation
Supports researchers in preparing metadata, README files, manifests, provenance records and FAIR data packages.
Training and capacity building
Provides webinars, courses, workshops and professional development for researchers, data stewards and research-support staff.
Infrastructure readiness
Helps prepare data, metadata and services for repositories, catalogues, OpenAIRE, EOSC and other open-science infrastructures.

How support is provided
1. Submit a request
Contact the Centre through the service request form, email or another published communication channel.
2. Describe the need
Provide information about the research data, metadata, workflow, repository deposit or support problem.
3. Select the support format
The Centre identifies the responsible specialist, support format and indicative completion period.
4. Review the result
The user receives consultation, reviewed materials, training or practical support according to the request.

Our role in the research data ecosystem
The Centre connects research communities with the organisational, methodological and technical services required for responsible research data management.
Kyiv Academic University
Provides the institutional, administrative and organisational basis for the Centre's activities.
NASU research institutes
Provide research cases, disciplinary expertise, data-management needs and users of the Centre's services.
DataverseUA
Supports publication, preservation, citation and reuse of research datasets and accompanying documentation.
OpenAIRE and EOSC
Provide the wider interoperability and federated discovery environment for research outputs and services.
Organisation and governance
The Centre is managed by its Head and may involve staff members, invited specialists, thematic working groups and an expert network representing Kyiv Academic University, NASU institutes and partner organisations.
Working groups may be established in areas including research data management, FAIR data and metadata, DataverseUA, EOSC, education, technological support and user support.
A Coordination Council may be established as an advisory body to support the strategic development of the Centre.

The Centre reviews and updates its methodological and training materials.
User feedback and recurring support needs are collected and analysed.
Requests, consultations, training activities and prepared materials are recorded.
The Centre prepares an annual activity report.
